Passionflower Truffle ceremony
Passionflower and psilocybin combination is a fascinating blend that offers extraordinary benefits to those seeking relaxation and anxiety relief. Passionflower is a natural herbal supplement that has been known to have calming effects, and when combined with psilocybin, the active ingredient found in magic mushrooms and truffles, they create a powerful mixture known as psiloflora. This combination delivers a synergistic effect that enhances the benefits of both. While psilocybin is recognized for its hallucination effects which causes perception to change, the mix of psilocybin and passionflower can create a feeling of profound relaxation. The resulting synergy helps to elevate mood, create introspection and contemplation while simultaneously increasing the sense of well-being.
Passionflower and it's origin
Passionflower (passiflora incarnata) is a perennial vine native to North and South America. Its history of use dates back centuries, with the indigenous peoples of Central and South America using it as a medicinal herb to treat a range of ailments including anxiety, insomnia, and pain relief.
The plant was later introduced to Europe by Spanish explorers in the 16th century. There, it was extensively cultivated as an ornamental plant due to its strikingly beautiful flowers and not so much for the healing properties.
During the 19th century, passionflower gained popularity in the field of herbal medicine mainly due to its calming properties. It was also used as a treatment for epilepsy, hysteria, and nervous disorders. In the present day, passionflower is widely recognized for its calming and relaxing effects, and is often included in herbal supplements as a natural remedy for anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
The active ingredients of passionflower
Passiflora incarnata mainly contains flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, phenols, essential oils, carbohydrates, and GABA. The most important for the Passionflower truffle ceremony are the psychoactive elements of the plant. We’ve listed these compounds here.
MAO inhibitors
Passionflower contains several molecules, including harmine, harmaline, and harmalol, which have MAOI (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor) activity. These molecules prevent the breakdown of monoamine neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline, which may lead to an increase in the levels of these neurotransmitters in the brain. MAO is an enzyme responsible for breaking down monoamine neurotransmitters, and by inhibiting this enzyme, MAOI can delay the degradation of these neurotransmitters, leading to their increased levels in the brain. This can result in mild sedative effects, relaxation, and improved mood. Besides slowing down the breakdown of these neurotransmitters, MAOI also prevents the breakdown of psilocybin and psilocin from magic truffles, resulting in a longer and stronger trip. Compared to other MAOi, the ones found in passionflower are safer to use beacuse these MAOIs are reversible and selective for MAO-A, which means they do not bind permanently to the enzyme and they do not affect MAO-B, which is responsible for breaking down tyramine. Tyramine is a substance found in some foods, such as cheese, wine, and cured meats, that can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure if it accumulates in the body due to MAO inhibition.
GABA
One of the key active ingredients in passionflower is a compound called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). GABA is known to have calming and relaxing effects on the brain and nervous system. In addition to helping to promote relaxation, GABA also plays an important role in regulating mood and cognitive function. The Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) mentioned in this article are also helping to increase GABA by preventing the breakdown of neurotransmitters like GABA in the brain. GABA can decrease the activity of psilocybin but the increased effect caused by MAOi is stronger making it the trip stronger with more calmness.
Passionflower is not for everybody
