Psychededelic retreats In the Netherlands
How to book from the U.S.
For clients from the United States, the Netherlands is one of the few countries where legal, professionally guided psychedelic retreats are available. The process is straightforward, but it does involve several structured steps to ensure safety, legality, and therapeutic effectiveness. Below we explain the full journey, from the first intake to post-retreat integration, so you know exactly what to expect. The two most important things when you start planning are the first two steps. You probably want to know if our availability matches with yours, but it’s also wise to figure out if there are any contraindications that might limit your plans. Our advice is to start with the first two steps before you go any further. Or when you really want to be sure we have availability, you can start with step 2 and then go back to step one.
Step 1: Intake and Contraindication Check
Every journey starts with a detailed intake. We review mental and physical health, current symptoms, and medication use to determine whether psychedelic therapy is appropriate and which substance is most suitable. If certain medications require adjustment, this is discussed carefully and well in advance.
This step ensures safety, legality, and realistic expectations before any booking or travel plans are made.
Step 2: Availability & Format Selection
After intake approval, you can make a reservation for your private session or group session.
Group retreats take place on fixed dates and include accommodation.
Private sessions are scheduled individually and take place at a location of your choice, such as an Airbnb, hotel, or private residence.
Availability depends on the facilitator, location, and retreat format. All our facilitators do speak English, Dutch and some also German or other lanuages.
Before you book any flights or accommodation, please make a booking first. After making a reservation you have 48 hours to book flights, accommodations and to make a down-payment to make the reservation final.
| Feature | Group Retreat | Private Session |
| Experience | Community-focused, shared circles. | 1-on-1, highly tailored. |
| Duration | 2-5 days. | 1 day (with prep/integration). |
| Accommodation | Included at the retreat center. | Often your own (Airbnb/Hotel). |
| Scheduling | Fixed dates. | Flexible/On-demand. |
Step 3: Date Reservation and location
After you’ve made a reservation for a date and you’ve have filled in the intake we can accept your booking. In a e-mail we request you to make a down-payment for the booking. From now on you have the time to book your flights and accommodations. Although the Netherlands is a small country that you can cross by car in 3 hours, we strongly advise you to book flights and your stays closeby the chosen therapist or retreat center.
For most retreats the location is nearby Rotterdam. You can best fly to the Airport Rotterdam The Hague (only 10 minutes by car) or to Schiphol Airport (60 minutes by car or 75 minutes by train). For the private sessions we advise you to take into account that every therapist has it’s own servicing area and it’s best to have an accommodation nearby the therapist. You can use the tool below to check and calculate who of our team works in certain area’s.
Step 4: Travel Planning From the U.S.
Now you know where your session or retreat can take place, you need a flight and probably an overnight stay. Let us first go for a flight. We advise you to fly to Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Eindhoven. You can use Skyscanner for checking best price:
The sessions and retreats on our location are including the overnight stay. If you have booked a private session that takes place at your own location, we recommend a private Airbnb in the Airbnb of your chosen therapist. In the Netherlands you can easily make use of Airbnb, Booking.com or trough Nature House for vacation houses closer to nature. You can also ask us for a list of locations that we’ve used before.
Step 5: Downpayment & Confirmation
To make your reservation final, a down-payment is required (from step 3). Once received, your spot is fully secured and the preparation phase begins. The remaining balance can be paid the week before the session up to the session date itself.
Step 6: Personal preparation plan
Based on your intake, you receive a tailored plan covering substance choice, dosage considerations, preparation guidelines, and practical recommendations around sleep, nutrition, and mindset.
Step 7: Preparation Call
One to two weeks before your session or retreat, you have a preparation call with your facilitator. This conversation focuses on intention setting, emotional readiness, safety, and practical questions, so you arrive grounded and well prepared.
This ensures your session is aligned with your goals, experience level, and therapeutic needs.
Step 8: The Psychedelic Session or Retreat
You travel to the Netherlands and take part in your professionally guided psychedelic session or multi-day retreat. Group retreats follow a structured program, while private sessions are fully individualized and adapted in real time.
Step 9: The Psychedelic Session or Retreat
After your session or retreat, you return home. Some clients choose to stay an extra rest day in the Netherlands to allow for physical and emotional recovery, especially after deeper experiences.
Step 10: Integration & Follow-Up
The process concludes with an integration call after you return to the U.S. This session supports emotional processing and helps translate insights from the experience into lasting changes in daily life.
